Paul Bergamo, a Tech Lead at @ Bitcoin.com joined me on a Fireside Chat today to share about a new wallet experience he’s working on to make onboarding new users to crypto even easier! This discussion was packed with insights, and we’re excited to share the highlights with you!If you missed the call, don’t worry—this blog post summarizes the key moments in the call and includes a full transcript so you can dive into the conversation.
Challenges in onboarding new users to crypto:
Lack of a Wallet: Most users visiting Bitcoin.com don’t have a wallet. Currently, they need to leave the site to download one from an app store, creating significant friction.
Seed Phrase & Wallet Management: Managing private keys and seed phrases is complex for beginners.
Account & Wallet Recovery: Users are expecting familiar Web2 processes for wallet recovery.
How we’re solving these issues:
Browser-Based Web Wallet: A web wallet that allows users to create a wallet directly on Bitcoin.com with just a few clicks.
Multi-Party Computation (MPC) Technology: This innovative approach eliminates the need for seed phrases, making wallet management simpler and more secure.
One-Click Account & Wallet Recovery: Users can recover their accounts as easily as resetting a password in Web2 applications.
How Verse
Wallet Connectivity with Verse dApps: The new wallet can interface with Verse dApps via WalletConnect (Reown).
Smart Contract Integrations: Users can seamlessly interact with Verse features like staking, rewards, and more.
"Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology will drastically simplify the way users access and control their wallet. Users will never lose access to their wallets any longer!"
